Lightweight batterypack

Lightweight 2-cell li-ion batterypack for our M headlamps with cells Panasonic NCR18500A with capacity 2050mAh. Fits standard M headstrap holder and bicycle helmet mount. We recommend it for normal running, short night trainings, mounted on bicycle helmet or as compulsory spare batterypack in some races.

Batterypack has got protection circuit, which protects cells against undervoltage, overvoltage or overcurrent. Thanks to high quality smd components adds only 6 miliohms of resistance. Batterypack is sealed to survive all conditions. Cabeling is quality PUR which we use in all our headlamps.

Attention! Batterypack is little off-center in all holders, see photo. However, its not a problem when used. We are working on the solution to make them perfectly centered.

The runtimes are minimums until the intensity drops below 70% of original value. When the battery cannot supply enough energy for a specific mode the headlamp switches to the next lower one. When it reaches the lowest mode it will no longer regulate brightness and light output gradually diminishes, giving plenty of warning before shutting off. When using the 4-cell battery runtimes are at least doubled.

Note that we specify runtimes more strictly than the ANSI NEMA FL-1 standard requires. ANSI accepts a drop in intensity down to 10% of the original which makes no sense - our runtimes reflect the practical illumination needs of real users!

 

High-current connectors and tough cables

The new grey, non-coiled cables are special! They are made from tough PUR materials, flexible to minus 30°C and very resistant to wear and weather. We have carefully designed the wiring to fit all head sizes from large men to small women. For special needs (such as fitting the light to your climbing or caving helmet) just record your needs in a comment when ordering.

The cable’s specification confirm its exceptional toughness:

  • Guaranteed permanent application in multi-shift operation under extreme high bending stress
  • Test of alternating bending cycles approx. 10 million
  • High resistant to mechanical strain
  • High property of alternating bending strength
  • Long life durabilities through low friction-resistance by using the PP insulation
  • High tensile strength-, abrasion- and impact resistant at low temperature

The connectors are specified for currents up to 7A and ensure firm and reliable contact over the long-term. Although they click together tightly (making accidental disconnection nearly impossible) they are easy to, even in difficult conditions when wearing gloves or in extreme cold.

Internal resitance (measured with connectors and cable resistance): mili-ohm.

Compatible chargers: All 8.4V li-ion chargers with current 0.5A, 1A or 1.5A. 0.5A and 1A can be used for everyday charging. We recommend to use fast 1.5A charger just when really needed, not for everyday charging.
